Janet Trainer joined St Francis of Assisi in 2019 on the threshold of challenges and transition in the Parish. She was one of a few essential parish workers and maintained financial operations throughout the covid shutdown. After covid, a new challenge was presented with the planned merger of four New Britain Parishes with seven churches. She maintained the integrity of financial records and operations for the four different  parishes until the finalized merger.  She approached the task with a sense of faithful stewardship, transparency of reporting, and strict attention to detail until the final consolidation to the St Francis of Assisi Parish as it exists today. After those seven challenging years, life would have seemed dull had it not been for the start up of a new parish high school in Fall 2026, Chesterton Academy of St Francis of Assisi, with Janet handling financial and HR operations. The adventure continues!

Janet holds a BS in Finance, an MBA in Finance & Accounting, and additional graduate work in Human Resource Management. She has held positions as an Internal Auditor, a Staff Accountant, an International Financial Analyst, specializing in budgeting and strategic planning for a major multi-national pharmaceutical company, and a Payroll and Human Resources Coordinator. Janet also holds a second Master’s degree, an MALS in the Humanities.  With an interest in English literacy, she became a Connecticut Department of Education certified Adult Education ESL Teacher and taught at Branford Adult Education, Southern Connecticut State University, and Manchester Community College. Janet lives on the Connecticut shoreline.  She has three lovely daughters married to three great sons-in-law and three adorable grandchildren.
